No, and the reason is the site rather than the booking. Batu Bolong sits in a tidal strait and the dive is timed to a narrow window, so a late seat puts you on whatever tide that departure drew. Divers with recent current experience absorb that easily; those fresh out of an Open Water course often should not.
If your logbook is thin or your last dive was a long time ago, tell us. We would rather place you on a softer profile for a day and put you on the pinnacle later in your trip than sell you a seat you will spend fighting the water. The two-dive afternoon Komodo trip is often the better late option for that profile, and the single-day Komodo dive trip is the standard full-day format when space allows.
Booking, payment and cancellation at short notice
Late bookings are confirmed in writing before any payment, with the departure date, the vessel, the inclusions and the total clearly stated. We do not hold space against a verbal agreement and we will not request payment through any channel other than the one named in your confirmation.
Because a late seat is released against a specific sailing, cancellation terms inside 48 hours are tighter than for an advance booking, and those terms are shown before you pay. If conditions make the pinnacle unsafe, the guide substitutes a suitable site and explains the change.

Can I really dive Batu Bolong tomorrow?
Often yes, if a boat is sailing with space and your equipment sizes can be covered from shop stock. The realistic sweet spot is 24 to 48 hours of notice, which is long enough to confirm a seat and arrange pick-up but late enough that unsold space is still being released. Same-day requests are possible but depend entirely on what is still alongside.
Are last-minute trips lower quality than advance bookings?
No. The vessel, guide ratio and inclusions are identical, because the discount comes from filling an empty seat on a boat that is already sailing rather than from cutting the specification. What you give up is choice of departure and tide window, which is why we tell you the specific sailing and its timing before you commit.
Do park fees get discounted too?
No. Komodo National Park charges are set by the authorities and apply identically whether you booked six months ago or this morning. Only the operator’s trip fee can move. Any offer that claims to reduce your park entrance or diving activity fee is describing something that is not within an operator’s power to give.
What if I have no equipment with me?
Full rental is usually available, but late bookings are limited by what is physically in stock that day, especially in less common wetsuit and boot sizes. Send your sizes in your first message so we can confirm rather than assume. Divers carrying their own regulator, computer and mask are considerably easier to place on a boat leaving the next morning.
How long is a quoted last-minute rate held?
Only as long as the seat is unsold, which at short notice can be hours rather than days. Your message will state the departure it applies to and the deadline for confirming. We do not advertise standing discounts, because a rate attached to no specific sailing tells you nothing useful about whether you can actually dive.
